December 31, 2019 G2 Pilot Overachievers Grant - $100,000 for a middle or high schooler making a difference in others' lives outside the classroom. Nominators must hand write a 1,000 to 2,500 essay explaining how they or someone they know is overachieving by going beyond their everyday job and responsibility by giving back to their community and improving the lives of others.

January 13, 2020 - American Legion William & Jewell Brewer Scholarship And/Or Guy Wilson Scholarship Both available for $500 each. Apply: www.michiganlegion.org/scholarships You must be a Michigan Resident and a son, daughter, grandchild or great-grandchild of a war time veteran planning on attending any nationally accredited college or university. GPA 2.5 or above, financial need, parent's or grand parent's honorable active war-time military services, goals and intentions.
January 15, 2020 (and beyond) - The Western Michigan University College of Education and Human Development offers two scholarship opportunities directly related to increasing the number of teachers from underrepresented populations. We offer five full tuition scholarships for eight semesters with our Funding the Advancement of Minorities in Education (FAME) and for 2018-19 will offer three $5,000 for five years scholarships for the WMU Future Educator Program from the Pickard Family Fund. Interested applicants can complete the CEHD scholarship application for consideration for these and other CEHD scholarships. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2018.

Once again the University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring unique scholarship awards to twelve outstanding freshman applicants to the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. February 1 2020 - NFL Alumni - Detroit Chapter Student Athlete Scholarship: Applicants are high school student athletes who have not accepted any scholarship funds or grants to participate in college athletics and attend high school within Wayne County. Must be a resident of Wayne County with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher OR a score of 1090 on the SAT OR a score of 19 or higher on the ACT. Must also show proof of acceptance to a 2 or 4 year college; have a letter of recommendation from your coach and played on the varsity level for a minimum of 1 year. February 24, 2020 - Zeal Credit Union - Each year, Zeal Credit Union awards seven scholarships to high school seniors. A total of $14,000 is awarded. High school seniors, who are members of Zeal Credit Union, may apply for scholarships for college or technical school.

March 1, 2020 - The Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers annually recognizes high school women who have shown exemplary abilities in areas such as leadership, academics, and community activities. March 27, 2020 - Schoolcraft College Trustee Scholarship ($2,000) and Award of Excellence ($5,000) - Requirements include: 2020 High school graduate and admitted to Schoolcraft College for Fall 2020. There is a minimum gpa of 3.0 for the Trustee and SAT = 940 or above or ACT = 18 or above. For the Award of Excellence - minimum gpa of 3.5 with an SAT = 1130 or above or ACT = 23 composite or above. An annual scholarship given to DCTC students who wish to further their education in CTE programs such as skilled trades, welding, drafting, CAD, and construction. April 22, 2019 - Student Insights 2018 Student-View Scholarship Program. No minimum GPA or test score required to be eligible for one of 13 scholarships ranging between $500 and $4000. **May 3, 2019 - The Rotary Club of Southgate Service Above Self Scholarship. Eligible students must be graduating from AHS and be accepted into a 2 or 4 year college or university. **May 3, 2019 - The Anderson Memorial Scholarship. Graduating AHS seniors who have attended Southgate schools for a minimum of 2 years can apply. May 11, 2019 - BASF Wyandotte ALLchemie. A graduating senior from AHS with a 2.5 or higher is eligible to apply. A 750 (max) word essay regarding gender roles in careers is required. See Mrs. O'Connor for details.
May 10, 2019 - Thomas and Margaret Anderson Scholarship. Must be a graduating senior who has attended Southgate schools for a minimum of 5 years, with a B or better GPA, and is majoring in a Science related field. See Mrs. Oxer for application.
June 15, 2019 - Horatio Alger National Career and Technical Scholarship program. Criteria include high school completion by spring of 2018, commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical certificate/degree, Pell grant eligibility, student under age 30, and US citizen. June 29, 2019 - The Matthew Edwards Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is available to all HS seniors in the Downriver area. Applicants must either be accepted by a recognized Christian College and/or be majoring in criminal justice. See Mrs. O'Connor for application.
August 31, 2019 - NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has just launched its fourth annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduating class of 2018. We will award this scholarship to the applicant who best demonstrates:
+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
This scholarship competition is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on August 31, 2018. Here they'll find detailed scholarship information and the official application form.
**Seniors make sure your SAT score is activated by contacting SSG (888-4-GRANTS or firstname.lastname@example.org) and providing your Social Security number. This is required for your qualifying SAT score to match with FAFSA results; which is the application for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship award. The award will be matched to your first college choice listed on the FAFSA form. This must be done before entering college!
